Trump’s primary revenge tour leaves Senate Republicans holding the leash
Trump’s revenge tour is winning primaries, and now Senate Republicans have to act thrilled about the souvenirs. Ken Paxton just knocked out John Cornyn in Texas after Trump’s endorsement, adding to a month that also took down Thomas Massie, Bill Cassidy, and Indiana Republicans who crossed him. That proves Trump can still move a GOP primary like a remote control with one button: punish. The problem is November. Senate leaders wanted loyal nominees, safe seats, donor calm, and no surprise math. Instead they got the political version of buying a guard dog and realizing it only bites family.
